Branding and UX for Mobile

2017

The sign-in experience for Esri's Field Apps was facing a pivotal moment, as the existing design and its implementation no longer aligned with the evolution of new workflows and the advancements in platform components. Furthermore, there was a pressing need to completely revamp the navigation experience tailored to field operations.

In this transformative phase, I spearheaded the redesign efforts. My role involved not only reimagining but also executing the design work that would align with Esri's new branding strategy. Additionally, I was responsible for the comprehensive rework of the navigation experience, ensuring it was intuitive, efficient, and seamlessly integrated into the field operations workflow. This project represented a significant step in modernizing and enhancing the user experience for Esri's Field Apps.

OAuth Platform Overhaul

2018

I spearheaded a pivotal redesign of Esri's OAuth Sign-In Experience, addressing the need to support an influx of new workflows from evolving software products. This comprehensive project involved a complete overhaul of the OAuth platform that links all customer-facing products, marking a significant impact on the company. My role encompassed both backend and frontend enhancements. On the backend, I delved deep into the complexities of the existing system to implement UX improvements that optimized information processing, storage, and sharing. For the frontend, I focused on modernizing the user interface to ensure ease of future updates without requiring another full redesign. The initial iteration, including some UI tweaks and the introduction of a dark theme, significantly improved the user experience, as evidenced in the provided screens.

GPS Bag Tracking App

Fall 2019

I was approached by the Graduate Office at Claremont Graduate University to conceptualize a unique gift for the class of 2019. In response, I developed a conceptual pitch that combined innovative technology with practical application: a web prototype along with a 3D printed bag tag. This concept was designed with the intent of enhancing the safety and convenience of the students. The bag tag, crafted using 3D printing technology, was envisioned to incorporate QR codes. These codes would securely store important student information, like contact details, ensuring a quick and safe recovery of their belongings in case of loss. This pitch not only aimed to offer a meaningful and useful gift to the graduates but also demonstrated the potential of integrating modern digital solutions into everyday student life for added security and efficiency.

Child Vehicle Safety App

Fall 2019

A startup dedicated to addressing the critical issue of infant fatalities in vehicles approached me for a collaborative project. Tasked with this life-saving challenge, I joined forces with a small, dynamic team to develop a groundbreaking solution. Our concept revolved around an advanced alert system integrated with GPS technology. This system was designed to connect seamlessly with a mobile application, providing multiple layers of safety measures. In the event of a child being left unattended in a vehicle, the system would activate a series of alerts: it would emit auditory warnings, send notifications to the parent's phone, and, as a crucial safety measure, notify the police. This project not only showcased our commitment to leveraging technology for social good but also our dedication to innovating for the most vulnerable in society.

Infographic for Accessibility

2020

I designed an informative and engaging infographic aimed at promoting accessibility best practices for a tech company. This visual tool was crafted to effectively communicate key principles and guidelines, ensuring that accessibility remains a central focus in our design processes. The infographic served as a practical resource for educating and inspiring team members, reinforcing Esri's commitment to creating inclusive and accessible designs.

Improving IA

2021

I spearheaded a significant initiative to overhaul the Information Architecture of Matterport's main site navigation. Leveraging website traffic data and conducting extensive research on similar websites, I developed a comprehensive understanding of user interactions and preferences. This groundwork enabled me to create initial prototypes of a new site architecture, which I successfully presented to our CEO. The prototypes I developed have since played a pivotal role in shaping the current layout and user experience of Matterport's main website, marking a key milestone in the site's ongoing evolution.
